About Locy Ventures

Every company begins with an idea.

Locy Ventures began with a question.

After more than three decades in employee benefits, John Locy stepped back and asked asked a question that would ultimately become the foundation for Locy Ventures.

Could we create a better way to help organizations and individuals make benefit decisions?

For most of his career, there was never enough time to fully pursue it. Like many professionals in our industry, he was focused on serving clients, leading teams, building practices, and solving the next challenge.

Then, for the first time in decades, he had the opportunity to step back.

Over the following months, conversations with brokers, carriers, employers, consultants, technology leaders, and industry executives confirmed something that had been forming in John's thinking for years.

The industry was discussing healthcare costs, artificial intelligence, litigation, compensation, and countless other important topics.

Yet one question remained largely absent: How do we help employers make better benefit decisions that improve financial protection for the people they serve?

For more than a decade, John had been searching for a bridge between retirement planning and employee benefits.

One discipline helps people build wealth. The other should help them preserve it.

He believed there had never been a better opportunity to begin building that bridge.

Locy Ventures was founded on that conviction.

Our work begins with Supplemental Health because we believe it presents one of the greatest opportunities to improve financial protection through better decision-making. It is where our experience, research, and intellectual property are strongest.

But our vision extends beyond any single benefit.

We may not be able to control the cost of healthcare, but we can do a better job engineering how individuals and families prepare for its financial consequences.

That belief became the foundation for Benefit Engineering™.

Today, Locy Ventures is building evidence-based methodologies, governance models, and AI-native workflows designed to improve decision quality and strengthen financial protection.

Locy Ventures exists because we believe better decisions create better outcomes.

Everything we build begins there.
