A Note from John
Thank you for taking the time to explore Locy Ventures.
If you've made it this far, you've probably realized this isn't a typical employee benefits company.
That was intentional.
After more than thirty years in this profession, I wasn't looking to build another brokerage, consulting practice, or technology platform.
I wanted to build something that could outlast my career.
I've been fortunate.
This industry has given me opportunities I never could have imagined. It introduced me to remarkable mentors, lifelong friendships, extraordinary clients, and experiences that shaped both my career and my life.
I've spent more than three decades learning from employers, brokers, carriers, consultants, enrollment firms, technology companies, and many of the people responsible for moving this profession forward.
Locy Ventures is my opportunity to give something back.
Not by claiming to have all the answers.
But by asking better questions.
Many of the ideas you'll find throughout this website began years ago in notebooks, conversations, presentations, client meetings, and long flights home after conferences. Some I tested inside organizations I admire. Others simply had to wait until the technology existed to build them the way I believed they should be built.
Today, that technology exists.
For the first time in my career, I have the opportunity to dedicate myself to exploring those ideas, challenging long-held assumptions, and building methodologies that I hope leave this industry stronger than I found it.
I don't know exactly where this journey will lead.
What I do know is that our industry has given me far more than a career. It has given me friendships, purpose, and opportunities that changed my life.
This is my opportunity to give something back.
At this stage of my career, success is no longer measured only by the businesses I build, but by whether the ideas behind them continue to improve this profession long after I'm gone.
If you've known me throughout my career, you know I've always believed that excellence is earned through curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to ask, What’s Possible.
